  • OYAP students are exempt from ratio while on placement for co-op hours

  • Employers can keep High School, College or University students employed through the summer
  • Employers receive a $2.00 per hour wage subsidy if they qualify for the summer job program

    receive a wage incentive (candidates and employers must meet criteria to access).
  • Employers can also have resumes screened for their particular jobs and postings

Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit
  • Employer can apply for this on their taxes based on the first 48 months of the apprenticeship wages. Has a potential of $10,000.00 / year for the first 4 years

Potentially $40000.00 per apprentice

Apprenticeship  Employer Signing Bonus

  • Employer hires eligible employee
  • Employer receives first installment after apprentice is registered with MTCU and the other installment 6 months later ($1000.00 each)

Apprenticeship Job Creation Tax Credit

  • Employers are eligible for a non-refundable tax credit up to $2000 per year for the first two years of apprenticeship (Red Seal Trades only)

Tradesperson Tool deduction

  • If employer is also a tradesperson,. they are eligible write off half of their yearly tool budget to a maximum of $1000
